2023 Recipients

Collin Carlson

Collin Carlson is a Pittsburgh State University Senior and graduating this December with an undergraduate degree in Plastics Engineering. Collin has enjoyed his internships at Plastics Packaging Technologies in 2021, General Motors in 2022, and as a thermoforming project engineer intern at Berry Global. He is most fascinated by the transportation industry and is excited to begin his career!


Muhammad Masood

Muhammad Masood is a driven and dedicated packaging student with a strong passion for the dynamic field of flexible packaging. Through rigorous coursework and extensive research, he has acquired a profound knowledge of materials, design, and sustainability within this industry. Muhammad actively seeks opportunities to apply his expertise and aims to play a pivotal role in advancing flexible packaging technologies. With a steadfast commitment to excellence, they aspire to make significant contributions that shape the future of the industry. Muhammad’s dedication, coupled with their enthusiasm for innovation, positions them as a promising figure in the field of flexible packaging.


Aaron Register

Aaron Register is a Chemical Engineering student at Kettering University, with a co-op at Nestle USA. While at work, Aaron works in process engineering, often with projects focusing on data analytics. He is an Eagle Scout, a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity, and Kettering’s Juggling Club. Aaron is a big fan of math, science, and the outdoors. He was first exposed to the complexities of plastics while working for Nestle to improve its shrink wrapper’s performance and has enjoyed learning more since.

Kirsten Sjoberg

Kirsten Sjoberg is a rising senior at Lehigh University, studying Materials Science and Engineering and Computer Engineering. For the past two years, she has worked with the PlasTech Ventures team on recycling multilayer packaging for use in the Philippines. The team has focused on low cost mechanical recycling, but Kirsten also is interested in chemical recycling methods and she plans on continuing her studies in polymer science and recycling after graduating. In her free time, she is the president of the Lehigh University Swim Club and enjoys hiking and knitting.
